To provide you with the Orbit experience, we collect the following types of information:
A. Personal Information
- Account Data: Email address and password (encrypted) provided during registration.
- Profile Data: Preference settings (language, colors, accessibility modes).
B. Sensitive Data (Special Categories under GDPR)
- Emotional Data: Records of your moods, feelings, and thoughts entered into your diary.
- Period Tracking: If enabled, information regarding menstrual cycles to provide calendar indicators.
- Diary Content: Text, drawings, and activities associated with your daily entries.
Legal Basis: We process this sensitive data based on your explicit consent, which you provide by voluntarily entering this information into the app.
C. Technical Data
- Device Information: Model, OS version, and unique identifiers for synchronization and security.
- Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics to improve app performance (e.g., most used features).
- Push Notifications: If you enable notifications, we collect a unique device token to deliver reminders and updates. This token is used exclusively for this purpose and is not linked to your emotional data.
3. Biometric Data
Orbit supports FaceID, TouchID, and PIN lock features.
- We do NOT collect or store your biometric data.
- The authentication process is handled entirely by your device's operating system (iOS or Android). Use of biometrics is local to your device.
4. How We Store Your Data
We use Supabase (a secure backend provider) to store and synchronize your data.
- Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest.
- Location: Data is stored on secure servers (typically in the EU region for EEA users).
- Security: Your diary entries are private and only accessible through your authenticated account.

No emotional data or diary content is shared with these services beyond what is necessary for encrypted storage (Supabase).
6. Children's Privacy
Orbit is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
- If you are under 13, please do not use the App or provide any personal information.
- If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information and the associated account from our servers.
- Users aged 13 to 18: We recommend that minors ask their parents for permission before sending any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet, including via this App.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal or emotional data to third parties. We only share information with service providers (like Supabase and Expo) necessary to operate and improve the App, who are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
8. Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)
If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of your data.
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure: Delete your account and all associated data via the "Delete Account" button in Settings.
- Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured format.
- Withdraw Consent: Stop the processing of your data by deleting your account.
9. Retention Period
We keep your data as long as your account is active. Once you delete your account, all personal and emotional data is permanently removed from our production servers.

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of any significant changes via the app or email.
